The Russian government has instructed Rostransnadzor to organize unscheduled inspections of 51 regional airlines, including Azimuth, Aurora, Alrosa, and Izhavia. This is stated in a draft order published on the Cabinet's website. Information on this matter приводит edition "Kommersant".
The inspections will begin on December 1, 2025, and will last for a year. They were prompted by an increase in commercial aviation accidents: four incidents have been recorded since January, claiming 53 lives. According to authorities, the causes are systemic violations of aviation regulations, ranging from inadequate aircraft maintenance to gaps in crew training and deviations from operational standards.
Rosaviatsia previously emphasized that joint measures with the Ministry of Transport "should preserve as much as possible" of Russia's aircraft fleet in order to avoid the decommissioning of over 300 airplanes and 200 helicopters by 2030.
