Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko said North Korea's latest missile launches were a legitimate measure to strengthen its defense capabilities. According to Rudenko, these actions by the DPRK were a response to the growing military activity of the United States and its allies in the region, which Pyongyang perceives as a security threat.
Rudenko stressed that in the context of increased military pressure around the Korean Peninsula, North Korea's steps to strengthen its own defense cannot be considered aggressive. He called such measures a reaction to the "provocative activities" of Washington and its partners, including holding exercises and deploying additional military forces in the region.
The Russian diplomat noted that the US and its allies are creating a tense situation in East Asia, which is forcing Pyongyang to strengthen its defense. Moscow believes that ensuring stability on the peninsula requires dialogue and consideration of the interests of all parties, rather than increasing military presence.
