Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Sergei Ryabkov made a statement in which he emphasized that the risks associated with US attempts to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia should not be underestimated. He noted that Moscow is ready for a long-term confrontation with Washington and is aware of all the threats that arise along the way.

According to him, the confrontation between the two countries, which reached a critical point after the start of a special military operation in Ukraine, is only intensifying. In recent months, as the diplomat noted, Washington has continued to increase sanctions pressure, military aid to Ukraine, and political efforts to isolate Russia in the international arena.
