The National Anti-Terrorism Committee (NAC) of Russia reported the prevention of 190 terrorist attacks since the beginning of 2024. As a result of the operational work of special services and law enforcement agencies, it was possible to detain more than 1,7 thousand members of illegal armed groups and their accomplices.

These data indicate high activity of extremist and terrorist groups trying to destabilize the situation in the country. As specified by the NAC, measures to suppress their activities were carried out throughout the territory of Russia, including the regions of the North Caucasus, the Volga region, the Central Federal District and the Far East.

Successes in the fight against terrorism have been made possible by improved monitoring and interdepartmental cooperation. The use of modern technologies, including facial recognition systems, big data analysis and drones for the rapid tracking of suspects, has played a special role.

Experts emphasize that 2024 has become one of the most intense years in terms of anti-terrorist work. Attempts at sabotage and attacks related to both internal and external threats have become more frequent. In this context, special attention is paid to cutting off the channels of financing terrorist organizations and eliminating their cells.
