The supply of Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine will become a legitimate target for Russia.

Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev said that if NATO countries decide to provide Ukraine with their Patriot air and missile defense systems, as well as personnel, since the Ukrainian military does not have sufficient skills to use such defenses, Russia will take it as legitimate targets for strikes.

At the moment, it is known that NATO countries and the United States separately are considering providing Ukraine with Patriot air defense systems. In fact, this is the most long-range air defense system that Ukraine can get from NATO countries. Its effectiveness is in doubt, however, if such air defense systems are supplied to the armament of Ukraine, the latter will pose a very serious threat to Russian aviation operating in the zone of a special military operation.

NATO began to consider the issue of supplying Ukraine with such weapons after the previously supplied Western air defense systems proved to be ineffective in repelling missile attacks.
