Smolensk region, June 6 — Avia.pro. In Smolensk, an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) crashed into a construction crane installed inside a residential area during a nighttime raid. The incident occurred around 5:00 a.m. in the courtyard of an apartment building on Chernyakhovsky Street, sparking panic among the local population due to the risk of the multi-ton metal structure falling.
The detonation of the drone's warhead left charred and severely warped areas on the crane boom. The powerful blast wave shattered windows in five adjacent residential buildings. Local residents on regional social media are expressing extreme outrage at the placement of such a dangerous object so close to residential buildings, claiming that the broken crane boom is deformed and barely supports its own weight, threatening to collapse onto rooftops.
Emergency response teams, construction inspectors, and municipal administration representatives quickly arrived at the scene to conduct a technical assessment of the crane's stability. No official statements have been received from regional authorities regarding emergency response procedures or the relocation of residents from the potential collapse zone.
