In the United States, they named a way to protect themselves from American anti-radar missiles AGM-88 HARM

A guaranteed way to defend against cruise anti-radar missiles AGM-88 HARM has been named.

Against the background of how AGM-88 HARM cruise anti-radar missiles began to be used in Ukraine, the United States unexpectedly revealed a way to ensure the safety of air defense equipment and radar stations. As it turned out, periodically turning off the radar can reduce the risk of that. that the missile will capture its target, however, only on the condition that we are talking about a radar with a range of over 20 kilometers.

As follows from the information provided, the missile is independently aimed at any target with electronic radiation, and this applies not only to air defense systems and radar stations, but also to electronic suppression systems.

If the complexes and stations operate in active mode for more than 30-40 seconds, then the missile will successfully capture the target, however, if the United States provided Ukraine with more modern versions of the AGM-88D, then only 15 seconds will be enough for this.

“Any radar or electronic warfare system operating for more than 30-40 seconds will receive damage from the AGM-88 ... And if it is an AGM-88D, then the military has only 10-15 seconds before the missile locks in and inevitably destroys the target”, - said in the message of Thomas Tyner.

It is noted that if the military can successfully identify the missile and turn off the sources of electronic radiation within the specified period of time, then the missile will subsequently successfully self-destruct.
