Washington supported the initiative to transfer Leopard tanks to Ukraine.

Heavy armored fighting vehicles can be transferred to Ukraine in the amount that is considered appropriate. In the United States, such a decision to supply this type of weapon to Ukraine was fully supported. The decision on deliveries should be made by Germany, or countries that are ready to transfer such tanks to Ukraine, if they are in service with them.

“The United States has signaled to the federal government that it will approve the delivery of German Leopard 2 main battle tanks to Ukraine. Berlin has not yet decided to transfer such tanks to Ukraine, however, any other country that has such combat vehicles in service, including Spain, can arrange deliveries.

In turn, experts note that Kyiv is unlikely to receive Leopard tanks within the next six months. This is primarily due to the fact that these heavy combat vehicles cannot be used in Ukraine due to their heavy weight. This in the current weather conditions will only lead to their loss.
