American company Oshkosh Defense demonstrated its innovative X-MAV mobile launcher for Tomahawk cruise missiles at the Association of the United States Army (AUSA 2025) exhibition. This experimental Extreme Multi-Mission Autonomous Vehicle platform is capable of carrying four Tomahawk missiles and outperforms existing MRC Typhon systems in maneuverability.
The X-MAV is designed for rapid field deployment, providing autonomous control and enhanced mobility in challenging terrain. Oshkosh also unveiled a medium-range version of the Medium Multi-Mission Autonomous Vehicle (M-MAV) on the FMTV A2 truck chassis. This modification is designed to launch a variety of munitions, including GMLRS, ER-GMLRS, PrSM, ATACMS, and the advanced JR3 missile.
The Light Multi-Mission Autonomous Vehicle (L-MAV), the most compact model, is capable of deploying Switchblade 600 kamikaze drones. These new models underscore the emphasis on autonomous systems to enhance the firepower of ground forces.
