In her new article for 19FortyFive, author and analyst Maya Karlin outlines the importance of continuous ammunition production for the advantage of Russian forces over the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU).
"Russian industry is gaining momentum, demonstrating significantly higher productivity compared to the US, which produces ammunition in one-seventh less quantity. European performance in this area is even less impressive," says Karlin.
The journalist emphasizes that the potential depletion of weapons stocks could be a real disaster for Ukraine, since the Western allies will not be able to replenish them in the required amount. This, in turn, will enable the Russian army to strengthen its positions at the front.
"The world has been impatiently waiting for the start of the UAF counter-offensive for several months. Now that it is unfolding, certain problems are becoming apparent", - indicates the author.
The confrontation on the battlefield is not developing in favor of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as the NATO countries expected. Kyiv troops failed to make a quick breakthrough, which Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also acknowledged, expressing dissatisfaction with the well-fortified Russian line of defense.
