Have the US copied the Russian Iskander?

The USA tested warheads for Iskander analogues.

Trials of an improved warhead for the new DeepStrike ballistic missile have been successful, developer Raytheon said. According to the Defense Blog, flight tests of this weapon will be carried out at the end of 2019.

The tests conducted by Raytheon involved detonating a warhead under controlled conditions. According to the assurances of the company representatives, the effectiveness of the warhead was higher than the requirements stated by the US Army. This conclusion was made based on the mass of the fragments and their distribution as a result of the explosion.

The new missile should replace the currently in service missiles of the Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) family. Raytheon offers this product as part of the US Army's Precision Strike Missile (PrSM) program. It should provide a departure from the legacy ATACMS. From the promises of the developers, it follows that the new missile will have better characteristics, doubled firepower, and its cost will be lower. It is noteworthy that in the United States the new missile is called an analogue of the Russian Iskander OTRK, which does not exclude the possibility that the development could simply be copied.

At the first stage, the results of the PrSM program are intended to be used only with M142 HIMARS complexes. All tests must be completed by September 30, 2024. After that, mass production of missiles will begin.
