US announces training of North Korean soldiers in Russia for special operation

North Korean soldiers are undergoing training in Russia and could be sent to participate in combat operations in Ukraine by the end of this year. This was reported by The Washington Post, citing its sources. According to the publication, we are talking about several thousand fighters who could be transferred to the front to replace Russian units in border regions.

It is reported that such measures will allow Russia to free up its own troops for active operations in the special military operation (SMO) zone. According to experts, North Korean soldiers will perform security functions in the rear and in secondary areas of the front, allowing the Russian army to concentrate on key areas.

However, the European Union has not yet confirmed this information. EU representatives say that their data does not indicate the presence of North Korean troops in the conflict zone in Ukraine. Earlier, Brussels repeatedly emphasized that any assistance from the DPRK to the Russian army would be considered a violation of international sanctions.

The news comes amid deepening military cooperation between Moscow and Pyongyang, which is being actively discussed in the world media. The leaders of the two countries recently held meetings to discuss various aspects of cooperation, including defense issues. At the same time, officials from both Russia and North Korea have not yet confirmed plans to send North Korean troops to the front.
