In Stavropol, unknown persons tried to burn a diesel locomotive with its driver

An attack took place at the Stavropol railway station, during which unknown persons tried to set fire to a diesel locomotive by pouring kerosene into the driver's cabin. The incident occurred on the night of July 24, when two men approached the locomotive standing on the sixth track of the station.

According to the information, one of the attackers monitored the situation to make sure that no one would notice them, and the second began pouring kerosene into the driver’s cab through an open window. Unknown people were planning an arson, but their actions were interrupted by the driver, who was in the cab at the time of the attack. A Russian Railways employee, frightened, accidentally drank some flammable liquid, but managed to scare off the criminals, who then fled the station.

Forensic experts immediately arrived at the scene and seized a liter bottle with kerosene residue and one glove left behind by the perpetrators. In connection with the incident, a criminal case has been opened for attempted terrorism.
