Commanders suspected of bullying and extorting wounded soldiers detained in Tuva

Video footage of the arrest of two commanders in Tuva, suspected of abusing their subordinates, extorting money and sending wounded soldiers to the front lines without treatment and rehabilitation, has appeared online. According to the Rylska News Telegram channel, the two are the commander of an assault company with the call sign "Yakut" and the head of one of the battalions with the call sign "Kasha".

Commanders with criminal records are said to have used their positions to create informal systems within their units. According to sources, they extorted payments from their subordinates for combat wounds and prevented them from receiving legal leave for treatment and recovery. Instead, wounded soldiers were sent on assaults without the necessary medical care.

According to fellow soldiers, strict discipline, reminiscent of prison rules, was established in the units led by "Yakut" and "Kasha". Anyone who dared to oppose the commanders or express dissatisfaction was subjected to harsh punishments, including physical violence. It is also reported that a so-called "private prison" was created on the territory of the unit, where the offending fighters were kept.
