Volgograd News, December 13, 2025, Avia.pro. Local outlet V1.RU reports an unusual request to parents of schoolchildren in Volgograd: to provide folding beds to set up temporary accommodation centers (TACs) for those affected by drone attacks. Specific schools were not named, but examples of the requests were received in class chats.
In the evening, a message appeared in a high school chat room at one of the city center's lyceums:
"Dear parents! The lyceum has a class request for a folding cot. Does anyone have an unused one in decent condition that they could donate to the lyceum? This is necessary to set up a temporary shelter for people injured by drones. If not, we will purchase one from the class's funds."
It was not explained how the funds for the class's needs are connected to the purchase of beds at the school.
Parents expressed dissatisfaction, pointing to the possible lack of preparedness of the civil defense system. One noted:
"Where did this shortage of sleeping places come from? Were the cots not purchased? Stolen? Broken? Or are the purchased quantities not enough for all the temporary accommodation facilities being set up? Or are those who announced this collection deliberately discrediting Volgograd's civil defense system?"
One school requested not only folding beds but also bed linens, citing a lack of budgetary funds. Local authorities, however, denied these claims, assuring that temporary accommodations are funded by the state and that the necessary sleeping spaces have already been secured.
