The namesake of the deputy chief of a military unit was in the car that exploded in Moscow

An explosion occurred in a Toyota Land Cruiser on Sinyavinskaya Street in the northern part of Moscow. A number of media reported that Andrei Torgashov, deputy head of the military unit of the Special Purpose Missile Forces in the Moscow region, was in the car. However, according to “Base”, the victim was Torgashov’s namesake, who is not related to this military unit, although he also serves in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

Explosive technicians and investigators are working at the scene of the explosion. The victim is in serious condition, as his feet were torn off by the explosion. At the time of the detonation, his wife was in the car with him and received facial injuries.

Investigators quickly began the investigation. A review of surveillance cameras revealed that the suspect had attached an improvised explosive device (IED) to the underside of a vehicle the night before the explosion. The identity of the suspect has not yet been revealed, but investigators have his images and are actively working to capture him.
