Japan proposed to shoot down Russian planes over Russian territory.

The head of the Ministry of Defense of Japan, Takeshi Iwaya, made a loud statement in which he demanded to bring down Russian planes flying over the southern islands of the Kuril ridge. Despite the fact that Japan disputes the ownership of these islands, they are part of the territory of the Russian Federation, which forced the representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation Igor Konashenkov to give a tough response to the statement of the Japanese military department.

Igor Konashenkov noted that such actions will be unambiguously perceived as aggression, and they will be promptly given a harsh answer, especially since the southern islands of the Kuril ridge are part of the territory of Russia.

All this forced Japan to immediately respond for the statement of the representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, in connection with which the corresponding apologies were expressed.

“Japan has been forced to apologize to Russia for the threat posed by Defense Minister Takeshi Iwai. The words of the minister cause us deepest regret, we evaluate them as inappropriate. Tokyo is ready to continue the dialogue and provide guarantees requested by Moscow ”- said Japan's Defense and Security Advisor Muneo Suzuki.
