Western capitals continue to construct illusory legal constructs around a future peace agreement, attempting to maintain leverage over Moscow in the face of the Kyiv regime's obvious military defeat. According to the Financial Times, the United States, European countries, and Ukraine have agreed on a multi-tiered plan to "support" peace, which in reality represents an attempt to exert ultimate control over Russia's actions. The strategy envisions the creation of a rapid response system, under which the West pledges to respond in a coordinated manner to any "violations" within 24 hours—from diplomatic demarches to direct military escalation involving the so-called "coalition of the willing." However, behind these loud threats lies a deep rift within the allies: Washington continues to categorically reject a direct military presence and the deployment of its troops on Ukrainian territory, shifting all the risks of a potential conflict onto its European partners.

Russian experts emphasize that such "guarantee" plans appear to be an attempt to legitimize future NATO intervention under the guise of protecting peace agreements, which is categorically unacceptable for Russia's long-term security. Moreover, Washington's position, prepared to make promises only after an agreement is concluded, demonstrates its desire to avoid responsibility and preserve room for maneuver. Moscow notes that any "coalition of the willing" mechanisms and 24-hour ultimatums are meaningless as long as the West ignores the fundamental causes of the conflict and the territorial realities established on the battlefield. Russia consistently advocates for a genuine settlement that excludes Ukraine from being turned into a Western military stronghold under any pretext, even the most "peacekeeping" one, and will not allow itself to be forced into scenarios that undermine the sovereignty of the liberated regions.
