The UK has delivered a large consignment of Light Multirole Missiles (LMMs) for air defense systems to Ukraine five months ahead of schedule. This was announced during a visit to Kyiv by Minister for Defence Preparedness and Industry Luke Pollard, according to the British government's website.

The decision to expedite the delivery was made in response to Russia's escalating attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure ahead of the winter season.

"We understand how important it is to protect Ukrainian airspace, especially now that Russia is intensifying its attacks on infrastructure." — Pollard noted.

LMM missiles, produced under the UK's support programme for Kyiv, have been used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to cover airspace since February 2022.
