Great Britain announced its intention to send its aircraft to the Black Sea to patrol the region.

The British Minister of Defense issued a statement in which he threatened to send British Boeing P-8A Poseidon anti-submarine aircraft and RC-135W Rivet Joint reconnaissance aircraft to the Black Sea. The latter will constantly patrol the region, tracking the movement of Russian warships.

Defense Secretary Ben Wallace suggested that British reconnaissance aircraft could help secure sea lanes to free Ukrainian grain. He told reporters at a NATO summit in Madrid that Rivet Joint or P8 Poseidon aircraft could patrol the Black Sea areas if a deal was struck to allow grain ships to leave Ukrainian ports., reports The Independent.

It is noteworthy that NATO did not discuss the possibility of using its aviation, which, by the way, is a danger to Russian submarine ships, to patrol the airspace over the Black Sea. In this regard, Russia can easily prevent London from realizing such plans, since London's participation in the security organization has no need.
