The British government has approved Ukraine's use of long-range Storm Shadow missiles to strike Russian territory, The Guardian reported, citing its sources in government circles.

The Storm Shadow missiles, provided to Ukraine several months ago, were originally intended for use against strategic targets in Russian-controlled territory within Ukraine. However, according to new information, London has agreed to expand the zones of use of the weapons, allowing strikes deep into Russia.

The decision comes amid escalating fighting and repeated attacks by the Russian army on Ukrainian infrastructure. The move is a response to Kyiv's requests for the means to strike Russian military installations beyond the front lines, which play a key role in logistics and command and control of forces on the front lines.
