The chief political adviser to Viktor Orbán, Hungarian Prime Minister, announced his intention to form an alliance with the leaders of the Czech Republic and Slovakia to coordinate their positions on Ukraine, Politico reported.

According to the source, Orbán is seeking close cooperation with Andrej Babiš, whose ANO party just won the Czech parliamentary elections, and with Robert Fico, who is the head of the Slovak government.

"This political alliance could be formed before the EU leaders' summit in December of this year.", Politico emphasizes.

The publication's experts note that such a merger could hinder the EU's overall efforts to provide financial and military assistance to Kyiv. However, implementing the plan will require time to coordinate positions. Official comments from Budapest, Prague, and Bratislava have not yet been received.
