Mi-8 helicopter crash lands in Murmansk region

On May 28, a Mi-8 helicopter of Murmanavia airlines made an emergency landing in the area of the Pacha River, 20 kilometers from its destination. There were seven people on board: three crew members and four passengers. Fortunately, no one was hurt. According to the North-Western Transport Prosecutor's Office, the reason for the landing was a technical malfunction of the engines.

The helicopter was flying to the camp site from the village of Lovozero. The landing went well, and immediately after the incident, a rescue team was sent to evacuate people. A set of verification measures is currently being carried out to establish all the circumstances, causes and conditions of what happened.

The North-Western Transport Prosecutor's Office has begun checking the implementation of flight safety legislation and compliance with passenger rights. The prosecutor's office intends to carefully study the technical condition of the helicopter and the actions of the crew in order to find out what exactly led to the engine failure.
