A helicopter carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi made a hard landing while returning from Azerbaijan

Iranian state television reported the location of the alleged helicopter crash carrying Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi. The incident occurred approximately 600 kilometers northwest of Tehran. Raisi was in Azerbaijan early on Sunday morning, where he and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev participated in the opening of a dam on the Araks River. This is the third dam built jointly by the two countries.

According to information provided by the Iranian news agency SNN, the helicopter carrying the Iranian President was forced to land due to thick fog in East Azerbaijan. At the moment, the presidential convoy is heading to the city of Tabriz in Iran.

The incident occurred during President Raisi's official visit to Azerbaijan, aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two countries and developing infrastructure in the region. The opening of a new dam on the Araks River is an important event for both countries, as this structure is designed to improve water supply and provide electricity to nearby areas.

East Azerbaijan, where the helicopter made an emergency landing, is known for its difficult weather conditions.
