Russian Aerospace Forces: Russian attack drones will enter service in 2021

The Russian Aerospace Forces announced the adoption of shock drones.

Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Aerospace Forces, Lieutenant General Sergei Dronov, made a statement that starting next year, the Aerospace Forces of the Russian Federation will begin using unmanned aerial vehicles for striking. We are talking about not only short-range drones, but also about medium and long-range drones, which most likely implies the use of the latest Russian attack drone S-70 "Okhotnik", since today it is one of the only Russian combat UAV long range.

“Attack drones will start arriving at the Russian Aerospace Forces in 2021. Long-range drones are designed to engage targets at strategic depth. This was stated by the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Aerospace Forces of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Sergei Dronov. The systems in service with short-range, short-range and medium-range unmanned aerial vehicles also make it possible to reduce personnel losses. "Next year, the troops will begin to receive multipurpose unmanned aerial vehicles of long range and duration of flight, capable not only of conducting aerial reconnaissance, but also of hitting enemy targets with high-precision ammunition in strategic depth," Sergei Dronov told the Krasnaya Zvezda newspaper, - about it сообщает Russian newspaper.

It is not known what specific unmanned aerial vehicles of the strike type are being discussed, however, it was previously reported that the Hunter UAV would begin to enter service with the Russian Aerospace Forces in 2022, however, experts do not exclude that the tests of the Russian heavy drone could well have been completed and ahead of schedule, especially since a few weeks earlier there appeared some information that unknown Russian drones attacked the positions of militants in Syria.
