Authorities closed the highway from St. Petersburg to Sosnovy Bor due to an emergency near Bolshaya Izhora.

Leningrad Region, June 6 — Avia.pro. The highway connecting St. Petersburg with the town of Sosnovy Bor is completely closed to all traffic. The Leningrad Region administration officially announced that the emergency logistics restrictions were imposed due to the forced shutdown of traffic on the section toward the village of Bolshaya Izhora.

According to preliminary reports, the highway blockage is directly related to the aftermath of the morning attack by Ukrainian drones. The fall of fragments from the downed drones sparked a major fire at a facility located in the immediate vicinity of the affected town. Relevant agencies have cordoned off the danger zone to ensure unimpeded access for firefighting and military equipment to the site of the incident.

To minimize inconvenience to residents, traffic flows were promptly rerouted. Currently, commuter trains and passenger buses operate from St. Petersburg exclusively to the Lomonosov railway station. Residents of the region are asked to plan their travel routes in advance, remain calm, and strictly follow the instructions of traffic police officers detouring the closed area.
