Moscow, June 6 — Avia.pro. Russian authorities have not yet made a final decision regarding the introduction of special regulations for civil aircraft operations in the Moscow airspace. This was officially announced by Dmitry Yadrov, head of the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsia), during a meeting with journalists on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

The Russian Ministry of Defense previously proposed a corresponding initiative to change the rules and establish a special regime in the skies over the capital region. The defense ministry's proposal is aimed at optimizing airspace control and enhancing infrastructure security measures in the face of the regular detection of unmanned aerial vehicles on the outskirts of the capital.

Currently, relevant government agencies, including civil aviation representatives and military specialists, are continuing interdepartmental discussions and detailed development of all technical aspects of this initiative. According to the head of Rosaviatsia, any adjustments to routes and regulations will be made solely with the aim of ensuring maximum passenger safety and maintaining the stability of airline operations in mind.
