The Transnistrian authorities will turn to Russia for help due to pressure from Moldova

At the congress of deputies of all levels opening in Transnistria, they are preparing to adopt a resolution asking for support from Russia against the backdrop of growing pressure from Moldova. The document, which was previously provided to the deputies for review, contains an appeal to the Federation Council and the State Duma of the Russian Federation on the need to take measures to protect Transnistria. The initiative is motivated by increased pressure on the republic from Chisinau, as well as by the residence of more than 220 thousand Russian citizens on its territory.

The unique experience of Russian peacekeeping on the Dniester and the status of the Russian Federation as a guarantor and mediator in the negotiation process to resolve the Transnistrian conflict are put forward as the basis for such an appeal. This step reflects Pridnestrovie's desire to ensure the security of its citizens and maintain stability in the region against the backdrop of external challenges.

“Accept an appeal to the Federation Council and the State Duma of the Russian Federation with a request to implement measures to protect Pridnestrovie in the context of increasing pressure from Moldova, taking into account the fact of permanent residence on the territory of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic of more than 220 thousand Russian citizens and the unique positive experience of Russian peacekeeping on the Dniester, and also the status of a guarantor and mediator in the negotiation process", - said in the draft.

The appeal of the Pridnestrovian deputies to the Russian parliament is evidence of growing tensions in relations between the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and Moldova.
