A sudden check of combat readiness has been announced in the Eastern Military District.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reports that a number of military formations and units of the Eastern Military District, as part of a sudden check of combat readiness, are being transferred to unfamiliar training grounds at a considerable distance from their permanent deployment points to work out assigned tasks. The circumstances of the sudden readiness check remain unknown, however, there are a number of suspicions that this may be due to the recent activity of US Air Force and Japanese Air Force combat aircraft near the islands of Iturup and Kunashir, as well as the refusal of NATO and the United States to coordinate the provision of security guarantees to Russia.

“The units and military units of the Eastern Military District are carrying out a set of measures to bring them to the highest degree of combat readiness with access to concentration areas. A number of formations and military units of the Eastern Military District, as part of a sudden check, are making marches in a combined way to unfamiliar training grounds located at a considerable distance from their permanent deployment points to perform combat training tasks., - informs the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

It is not known which units are involved in a sudden check of combat readiness, however, experts note that such exercises will become regular in the near future, as the risks of a military clash between Russia, the United States and NATO have increased significantly.
