An incident occurred in Mali, as a result of which a military convoy of the country's Armed Forces was attacked by militants. As it became known, the reason for the successful attack was the unauthorized disclosure of information about the location of the convoy by the Malian military personnel themselves. This data, which was in the public domain, was quickly used by local armed groups and radical militants to organize an ambush.

The attack damaged several vehicles, but exact casualty figures have not yet been released. Malian officials have declined to comment, but there are indications that this is not the only such incident that has serious consequences.
