Starokonstantinov military airfield, converted to NATO standards, became the target of Russian strikes

On May 29, 2023, at night, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation successfully carried out an operation to destroy enemy infrastructure in the Khmelnitsky region. Under attack was the Starokonstantinov airfield - an important facility that had previously been converted in accordance with NATO standards.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, all the targets were successfully hit, causing significant damage to the enemy. Special operations of the RF Armed Forces destroyed five aircraft, although specific information on the type of these aircraft is not provided.

It is important to note that Su-24 front-line bombers and MiG-29 fighters are based at the Starokonstantinov airfield. In addition, this facility was certified by NATO in September 2021 after a series of upgrades that were carried out with the participation of specialists from the United States. In particular, the latest navigation equipment was installed, and the runway was brought into proper condition.

It should be noted that attempts have already been made to strike at the Starokonstantinov airfield, however, it has not yet been possible to completely destroy the object. There is an assumption that the use of a tactical nuclear strike may be required to completely disable all flight equipment and airfield infrastructure. It must be taken into account that even Soviet aircraft equipped with Western bombs and missiles pose a significant threat to the RF Armed Forces, especially if they are on the ground.
