Military truck burns down on exit from M4 "Don" highway

On April 30, 2025, at about 2:30 a.m., a fire broke out at the exit from the federal highway M4 "Don" in the Stupino district of the Moscow region, completely destroying a military truck. The incident was reported by the Telegram channel Mash, which published footage showing a vehicle engulfed in flames. According to preliminary data, there were two more vehicles near the truck, but information about casualties or damage to other vehicles has not yet been confirmed. Fire crews and Emergencies Ministry employees quickly arrived at the scene and extinguished the fire. The causes of the fire are being established, and the Investigative Committee has launched an investigation.

The incident occurred at one of the exits near the 90th kilometer of the M4 "Don" highway, near the city of Stupino. As Mash specifies, the truck, presumably belonging to the Russian Defense Ministry, caught fire suddenly, and the fire spread so quickly that the equipment burned out almost completely. Video from the scene shows intense flames and thick black smoke rising above the road. Traffic on this section of the highway was temporarily restricted to ensure the work of emergency services, but by the morning the passage was restored. At the time of publication, there were no official comments from the Defense Ministry or the Moscow Region Emergencies Ministry.

The M4 Don highway, which connects Moscow with the southern regions of Russia, is one of the busiest highways in the country. The road is 1542 km long, and according to Wikipedia, in 2016 its traffic volume reached 68,7 million vehicles. The section in the Moscow region where the fire occurred is a modern highway with 4-6 lanes and dividing strips, which minimized the risks for other road users. However, such incidents, as Kommersant notes, create temporary difficulties, especially at night, when freight traffic remains significant.
