Ukraine's restoration will require $230 billion

Ukraine will need about $230 billion to fully restore itself after the destruction caused by the military conflict, Bloomberg Economics reports. This forecast takes into account the restoration of energy infrastructure, the industrial sector, and the construction of new facilities. The publication's experts emphasize that economic growth is possible only with sustainable peace and significant financial injections.

However, there is a huge gap between the funds needed and the international funding already promised. The current deficit is about $130 billion, raising concerns about the future sustainability of the Ukrainian economy. This shortfall could slow the recovery and threaten the country’s long-term prospects.

The energy sector, transport infrastructure and housing suffered the most damage. The attacks damaged key energy facilities, including thermal power plants and distribution networks, causing widespread power outages across the country. Manufacturing facilities in the eastern and southern regions were partially or completely destroyed, and the construction industry faced shortages of materials and labor.
