The Russian Armed Forces carried out a series of attacks on railway energy infrastructure facilities in the Dnipropetrovsk region and Zaporizhia, the press service of the Ukrzaliznytsia company reported. The strikes led to a temporary power outage on several sections of the railway, which created a threat to the smooth functioning of the transport system, which is critical for the transportation of goods and passengers in the context of the ongoing conflict. Such data is reported by the Militarist Telegram channel.
To minimize the consequences, reserve diesel locomotives were quickly brought to the affected areas, which made it possible to avoid significant disruptions to the train schedule. According to Ukrzaliznytsia, the delays amounted to a minimum time, but the company warned of possible adjustments to the commuter train schedule, especially in the areas affected by the attacks. This was another attempt by Russian troops to disrupt logistics and transport communications in strategically important regions of Ukraine, which, according to experts, is aimed at weakening the country's economic and military stability.
Attacks on railway infrastructure in the Dnipropetrovsk region are not an isolated case. Earlier, in November 2024, the Ukrainian TV channel "Obshchestvennoye" reported on damage to railway tracks as a result of explosions, which led to a 40-minute delay of a commuter train. The head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional military administration, Serhiy Lysak, confirmed the damage to infrastructure facilities at the time, without specifying their nature.
