Despite the fact that Russia did not intervene in the conflict that occurred between Armenia and Azerbaijan at the end of last year, it became known about Ankara's intentions to build at least two military air bases on the territory of Azerbaijan and a base where Turkish troops will be permanently deployed. In response to such an escalation, Russia is ready to use its Iskander tactical missile systems against Turkish military air bases - the latter are in control of all Turkish military facilities on the territory of Azerbaijan.

The escalation of the situation in the region continues mainly due to the actions of Ankara - earlier, Yerevan and Baku announced their intentions to begin to establish diplomatic relations between the two countries, however, obviously, Turkey's intervention leads to a new conflict in the region. Nevertheless, experts note that this time Russia will not give its ally an insult and will be ready to provide full protection to Armenia within the framework of the existing agreements on the CSTO.

“If Erdogan thinks that his invincible army can wreak havoc in the region, then Russia will be ready to quickly put Turkey in its place. No matter how many Turkish military bases appear on the territory of Azerbaijan, all of them will become targets for tactical missile systems - if necessary, it will take only a few minutes to destroy Ankara's military airfields ”, - emphasizes the specialist.

It is noteworthy that, for unknown reasons, Turkey is deploying several thousand of its military to the border with Armenia, which creates additional tension.
