The Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the territory of the DPR using tanks.

The OSCE observation mission reported that the Ukrainian military violated a number of agreements to de-escalate the situation in the demarcation zone in Donbass, using heavy tanks against the forces of the Donetsk People's Republic. It is known that the tanks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, presumably, we are talking about T-64 tanks, inflicted at least six strikes on the area of ​​the village of Zaichenko.

To date, this is the first use of tanks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in recent years, and, apparently, with these strikes, the Armed Forces intend to "probe" the defense of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics in order to supposedly break through to the Russian borders, and for the subsequent attempt to take part of the territory DNR in the ring.

“On May 15, about 1,5 km northeast of N. Zaichenko (non-government-controlled, 93 km south of Donetsk) the SMM observed 6 craters: one on the northern edge and two on the southern edge of the T0519 road, and three more in a field about 30 m south of the road. It is estimated that these craters were formed recently as a result of explosions of tank shells fired from the west-northwest direction. ", - said in the report of the OSCE monitoring mission.

In turn, experts note that a tank breakthrough by the Armed Forces of Ukraine is unlikely, since the combined forces of the LPNR are armed with several hundred anti-tank missile systems and missiles capable of guaranteed destruction of heavy armored vehicles.
