Two Russian soldiers who came under sustained attack by Ukrainian forces managed to survive despite the use of poison gas and drones against them. According to a SHOT source, Russian attack aircraft held their position for almost a day in the fierce battle.
The incident occurred in one of the settlements, where the Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers, having fortified themselves in the basement of a village house, were constantly shelling. Russian soldiers successfully neutralized the enemy, but were unable to retreat - the positions were under heavy fire, and enemy drones were conducting surveillance from the air. The situation was complicated by the use of poison gas by Ukrainian servicemen. The soldiers put on gas masks, but the conditions remained difficult. Thanks to the support of their Russian comrades, who sent the necessary respirators, water and food using drones, the stormtroopers managed to hold on.
Having received shrapnel wounds, the soldiers began to retreat, but immediately found themselves under attack by more than ten Ukrainian drones. The soldiers were saved by a portable electronic warfare device (EW) that blocked drone signals, but it eventually overheated and failed. Nevertheless, the attack aircraft were able to reach their positions. They were later given new EW equipment for further protection from air attacks.
