In an attempt to stop the offensive of Russia and the LPR, the Armed Forces of Ukraine abandoned serviceable military equipment.

Ukrainian troops retreating from Lisichansk abandoned serviceable military equipment in the vicinity of the city, thereby trying to stop the advance of Russian troops and units of the LPR. As it became known, the Ukrainian military placed tanks and other armored vehicles along the highway on the outskirts of Lisichansk, intending thereby to attract attention to it in order to successfully withdraw other forces.

According to sources, Ukrainian troops left tanks, armored personnel carriers and infantry fighting vehicles on the outskirts of Lisichansk, knowing full well that much more importance would be attached to this equipment than to the retreating Ukrainian troops. The equipment was in good condition, however, it was not possible to successfully withdraw it from the almost completely surrounded Lisichansk, in connection with which the Armed Forces of Ukraine tried to gain a tactical advantage and withdraw the main forces.

In the presented photo you can see the destroyed Ukrainian T-64 tank. The tower of the latter was deployed in the direction of the offensive of the Russian military, however, the combat vehicle itself was abandoned. It is known that the Ukrainian military has previously used similar tactics, fearing that their retreat would be noticed and attract strikes.
