Last night, the Armed Forces of Ukraine attempted to attack a military airfield near Maykop using American PD-2 drones. The attack took place at about three o'clock in the morning, when one of the drones was detected by air defense systems. As a result of the successful work of the air defense, the device was shot down and fell in a field near the village of Rodnikovy, which made it possible to avoid serious consequences.

According to the information, the drone was loaded with 19 kg of explosives and traveled about 500 km from the Ukrainian border before it was destroyed. These drones are capable of traveling up to 1000 km, which makes them a serious threat to targets in Russia. The same drones were used by Ukrainian forces to attack Moscow in early September.

After the drone was discovered and the threat eliminated, the authorities decided to evacuate local residents from the village of Rodnikovy for safety reasons. According to the latest data, the evacuation affected about 1300 people, including 13 children. Most of the evacuees were temporarily placed in the village of Khanskaya, where a temporary accommodation center was set up for them. Some of the residents chose to temporarily stay with relatives.
