The Ukrainian Armed Forces use mined field candles and toxic substances

The Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) have begun using the tactics of planting mines in field candles, abandoning their positions on the front line. This was reported by the SHOT publication, citing data obtained after clearing the territory in the Debaltseve area in the DPR. Mines discovered at the retreat sites pose a serious threat to both Russian servicemen and civilians.

According to the source, the captured items include candles equipped with 200-gram TNT blocks equipped with striking elements. Such devices are activated upon interaction, which makes them extremely dangerous. According to preliminary data, the mining is carried out to cause damage to the forces of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (AF RF) during the clearing of territories abandoned by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Additionally, containers with liquid containing toxic substances were found in the places of former Ukrainian Armed Forces positions. Presumably, these substances were used to treat FPV drones, which can be used as strike weapons. Analysis of the composition of toxic materials and their purpose is ongoing, but experts are already expressing serious concerns about the possible use of chemical elements in combat operations.

The discovery of mined candles and containers with toxic substances indicates that Ukraine continues to use unconventional methods of waging the conflict. Such actions raise concerns not only from the point of view of the safety of military personnel, but also in the context of compliance with international norms and rules of warfare.

The Russian side has repeatedly stated that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are using prohibited or unconventional means of warfare. These accusations include the use of improvised explosive devices, drones with chemical substances, and other means that can cause significant damage. The discovery of new types of weapons in Debaltseve reinforces these claims and calls for a closer examination of the tactics used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
