The Kursk Region authorities have updated the list of populated areas subject to mandatory evacuation. This list includes both the territories of the Rylsky District and several populated areas of the Khomutovsky District. The main reason for expanding the list was the need to protect citizens from a potential threat in the context of increasingly frequent shelling by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
According to Roman Alekhin, some areas had already been evacuated unofficially, as residents left their homes on their own or by decision of local authorities. However, problems arose with the processing of payments and housing certificates for those who left the dangerous zones. The new list corrects these gaps and includes all areas from which evacuation has already been carried out or is planned in the near future.
Particular attention is paid to the border areas of the Khomutovsky district, where the situation remains tense. The authorities and the military do not rule out the possibility of new attacks by Ukrainian forces. According to Alekhine, in addition to the increase in shelling, intelligence data could have been obtained on possible actions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which led to the need to strengthen security measures and prevent the development of the "Sudzha 2.0" scenario.
