On the evening of January 13, 2025, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) carried out a massive missile attack on the territory of the Bryansk region. According to preliminary data, the target of the attack was one of the industrial enterprises of the region. Thanks to the coordinated work of the air defense units of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, all the launched missiles were successfully intercepted and destroyed in the air. Bryansk Region Governor Alexander Bogomaz reported that there were no casualties as a result of the incident, and no damage was recorded on the ground.
"The Kiev regime has made a massive attempt to launch a combined missile strike on the territory of the Bryansk region. The air defense forces of the Russian Defense Ministry have destroyed all targets. According to preliminary data, there are no casualties. Operational and emergency services are working on the ground", - the head of the region wrote.
In recent months, the Bryansk region has been repeatedly attacked by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, primarily using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Thus, on January 10, 2025, air defense forces detected and destroyed a Ukrainian aircraft-type drone over the region's territory. There were no casualties or destruction then either.
Similar incidents have occurred before. On December 18, 2024, two Ukrainian UAVs were shot down without causing damage. On December 19, 2024, air defense forces again destroyed two Ukrainian UAVs over the Bryansk region.
In response to the increasing number of attacks, the Bryansk Region authorities, together with the Russian Ministry of Defense, are taking additional measures to enhance the region's security. Airspace control is being strengthened, the number of air defense crews on duty is increasing, and work is being carried out to inform the population about actions in the event of a threat.
