The Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked Donetsk with new Slovak JROF HEF missiles stuffed with steel balls

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) used a new type of JROF HEF missiles during the shelling of the Kalininsky district of Donetsk, the representative office of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) at the Joint Center for Control and Coordination (JCCC) reported. According to the representative office, the Ukrainian side fired from a 122 mm multiple launch rocket system from positions near the village of Karlovka, Pokrovsky district of the DPR.

The JROF HEF missiles used, manufactured in Slovakia, have a range of 40,2 km and contain striking elements in the form of 9100 balls. As a result of the shelling, a woman born in 1957 was injured, and three private houses were also damaged, one of which caught fire after a direct missile hit.

The head of the Russian delegation at the negotiations in Vienna on military security and arms control, Konstantin Gavrilov, previously reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces began using Slovak JROF-M high-explosive missiles and JROF-HEAP fragmentation missiles to shell DPR settlements at the end of December 2022. According to him, on New Year's Eve, an attack with such missiles led to the death of three people and damage to 23 houses. The DPR representative office in the JCCC last reported on JROF-M missile attacks on November 28, when an attack on the Kuibyshevsky district of Donetsk injured five people and damaged 16 addresses.
