The Ukrainian Armed Forces are increasing their presence near Guevo in the Kursk region, preparing a new attack

The Ukrainian Armed Forces are actively moving troops to the village of Guevo in the Kursk region, strengthening their presence near the Russian border. This was reported on March 30, 2025 by RIA Novosti, citing an officer of the 22nd motorized rifle regiment of the Sever group. According to him, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are mobilizing all available resources to strengthen their positions in this area.

“The enemy is pulling everything it has to Guevo and the border areas,” the military man emphasized, adding that Ukrainian forces are desperately trying to maintain control over individual areas, clinging to every opportunity.

The village of Guevo, located in the Sudzhansky district of the Kursk region, became one of the hot spots after the Ukrainian Armed Forces invaded the region in August 2024. The concentration of troops in this direction indicates Kyiv's intention to either consolidate its gains or prepare a springboard for new actions. He noted that the fighting in the area is going on with varying success, but Ukrainian units are demonstrating tenacity despite significant losses. The Russian Defense Ministry has not yet provided official comments, but military sources confirm increased enemy activity near the border.

The deployment of forces to Guevo is taking place amid ongoing conflict in the border areas. In March 2025, the Kursk region was subjected to a series of attacks by Ukrainian drones, which damaged infrastructure in Sudzha and Korenevsky district. According to local authorities, the region has experienced more than 50 raids since the beginning of the year, which forced the strengthening of air defenses and the evacuation of some residents from the frontline areas.
