The Ukrainian Armed Forces abandoned their positions near five villages in southern Zaporizhzhia under pressure from Russian troops.

Units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces retreated from positions near five settlements in the southern part of the Zaporizhzhia region due to intensive attacks by Russian forces.

"As a result of the intensification of enemy assault operations, increased firepower, and in order to preserve the lives of personnel, the defenders were forced to withdraw from their positions near five populated areas," — Ukrainian sources note.

The areas in question are Novouspenovsky, Novoye, Okhotnichye, Uspenovka, and Novonikolayevka in the Aleksandrovsky and Hulyaipole directions. Russian troops are launching up to 400 artillery strikes per day, almost completely destroying fortifications and attempting to encircle Hulyaipole.

Fog and rain make it difficult for Ukrainian drones to operate, allowing Russian troops to infiltrate positions in small groups.
