The Ukrainian Armed Forces lost satellite communications over the Kharkov region and Donbass

According to the head of the Zaporozhye public movement “We are together with Russia” Vladimir Rogov, units of the Ukrainian army lost satellite communications in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, as well as in the Kharkov region. Rogov reported in his Telegram channel that although satellite Internet communications are supported along the Dnieper River and to the west of it, its speed is significantly reduced. In the Nikolaev and Kherson regions, satellite communications often disappear.

Earlier, information appeared that SpaceX, Elon Musk’s company, disconnected some subscribers from the Starlink service due to the Pentagon’s debt. The British publication Telegraph, citing experts, claims that Russia can destroy Starlink satellites used by the Ukrainian military for satellite communications.

Experts note that such actions do not violate existing norms, since commercial space satellites used for military purposes are not protected by the Geneva Convention and can become a legitimate target. Starlink provides the Ukrainian military with satellite Internet, which is used to coordinate their actions.
