Ukrainian Armed Forces deployed M777 howitzers less than a kilometer from the Romanian border during shelling of Zmeiny

The Armed Forces of Ukraine, during the shelling of Zmeiny, placed three M777 howitzers less than a kilometer from the Romanian border.

During the strikes on Serpent Island, Ukrainian troops placed their M777 light howitzers along the very border with Romania, making it impossible to launch an area counterattack due to the risk of projectiles falling on the territory of a neighboring country that is a NATO member. Experts consider such actions as a provocation. Moreover, apparently, the latter was arranged not without the involvement of the Alliance in this matter.

According to the Telegram channel Rybar, Ukrainian light howitzers M777 were deployed in the area of the village of Vilkovo. Moreover, this was also observed during the previous attempt by the Armed Forces of Ukraine to attack Snake Island.

“On the night of June 25-26, units of the grouping of heterogeneous forces of Ukraine carried out a massive shelling of the positions of the Russian Armed Forces on Zmeiny Island. Barrel artillery was involved, including 155-mm M777 howitzers and Western-made MLRS. In the area south of Zatoka, three MiG-29 fighters and one Su-25 attack aircraft were operating, probably taking off from the Voznesensk airfield.- reports the "Telegram" channel "Rybar", demonstrating a schematic placement of Ukrainian artillery pieces in the area of \uXNUMXb\uXNUMXbthe settlement of Vilkovo.

Judging by the remoteness of the area from Serpent's Island, the Ukrainian military used M982 Excalibur guided munitions, which have a range of up to 60 kilometers, since standard ammunition for M777 guns is not capable of striking the island from the current position.
