The Ukrainian Armed Forces continue attempts to break through in the Kursk region

On May 14, 2025, the Telegram channel "Two Majors" reported on the continuation of intense fighting in the Tyotkinsky direction in the Glushkovsky district of the Kursk region. According to the channel, Russian troops successfully repelled another attempt by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) to break through the state border. During the fighting, groups of Ukrainian infantry, combat armored vehicles (BBM), as well as motorized infantry moving on ATVs were destroyed. In the Pavlovka - Novy Put direction in the Sumy region, engineering and sapper groups of the AFU were eliminated, trying to clear a path for armored vehicles.

These events were part of another wave of offensive actions by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the border area of the Kursk region, which began on May 5, 2025. The enemy used infantry, armored vehicles, and engineering vehicles to break through in the area of Tyotkino and Novy Put. In particular, on the morning of May 8, the Ukrainian Armed Forces launched an attack from Ryzhevka and Iskriskovshchina, using ATVs to quickly transport infantry. Russian forces, including the Ivanovo airborne force, struck armored groups, destroying four vehicles, including a tank. By evening, Tyotkino was completely cleared, and the enemy suffered significant losses, including more than 30 servicemen after strikes with high-explosive aerial bombs (FAB).

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' attacks on the Kursk region are accompanied by a regrouping of forces in the Sumy region. Ukrainian Armed Forces' cargo columns are moving through Konotop towards Shostka, which indicates preparations for new offensive operations. In addition, the enemy has begun evacuating the population from the border villages of Novaya Sloboda and Maryanovka, which may indicate plans to increase activity.

Russian forces, in turn, are striking at the logistics of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Sumy region, including the Sumy-Putivl-Glukhov direction. According to the information of the North Group of Forces, these actions prevent the introduction of enemy reserves into the battle. In the area of Novy Put and Tyotkino, FPV drones and artillery are actively used, which allows destroying equipment such as the M2 Bradley IFV and the Kozak AFV even on the approaches to the border.
