Fierce fighting continues in the border areas of the Belgorod Region, centered around the settlements of Demidovka and Popovka in the Krasnoyarsk District. As military correspondent Vladimir Romanov reported on April 18, 2025, the situation in these villages remains tense and unchanged. Romanov noted that the fighting is positional in nature, with the use of artillery and drones on both sides, which emphasizes the strategic importance of this section of the front.
Demidovka and Popovka, located near the border with Ukraine, have become the scene of intense clashes in recent weeks. Russian troops have been using aircraft to strike Ukrainian positions, including with FAB-500 high-explosive aerial bombs. These actions are aimed at suppressing the offensive potential of the enemy, which, according to Russian sources, was trying to advance through forest belts in the direction of Demidovka and Popovka. Despite the efforts of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, their attempts to break through were reportedly thwarted, and reinforcements sent to support the offensive were destroyed.
