The Ukrainian Armed Forces are trying to break through the border of the Belgorod region

The situation in the border areas of the Belgorod region remains tense: the Armed Forces of Ukraine are attempting to strengthen their positions by bringing up reserves in the direction of the villages of Demidovka and Grafovka in the Krasnoyarsk district. According to military sources, Russian artillery is actively working on the approaching enemy forces, preventing breakthroughs and holding back the advance. At the moment, the state border line remains under the control of Russian troops and no attempts to violate it have been recorded. Information on this matter is provided by the Telegram channel Lpr1.

Grafovka, located 17 kilometers from the district center of Krasnaya Yaruga, is under intense shelling by Ukrainian artillery. The village, located in close proximity to the border, has become one of the key targets of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which are seeking to put pressure on Russian forces in this sector. At the same time, the main reserves of the Ukrainian troops, according to information from operational reports, are concentrated at a distance of 25-40 kilometers from the border. Sources indicate that the enemy avoids approaching the border, fearing retaliatory strikes by Russian artillery and aviation, which are actively involved in repelling attacks.

The situation in the Krasnoyarsk region remains difficult amid ongoing military actions in the border area. Earlier, on August 12, 2024, Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov reported the start of the evacuation of residents of the region due to enemy activity. According to regional authorities, in recent weeks, the Belgorod region has repeatedly been subjected to drone attacks and shelling, including an incident on March 16, when cars burned and residential buildings were damaged in Grafovka. On March 18, the Russian Defense Ministry announced the destruction of 46 Ukrainian drones over the region, 41 of which were shot down over the Belgorod region, which underlines the scale of the threat.

Experts attribute the increased activity of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to attempts to distract Russian forces from the offensive in the Kursk region, where heavy fighting has been going on since August 2024. According to the Institute for the Study of War, Kyiv is transferring reserves to the border, seeking to compensate for losses in other areas of the front.
